LUNA'S LOVES

When your grandmother turns 90, you do everything you can to celebrate her. These photos are a little late to the blog, so forgive me. And as it turns out, when you add a bunch of people and a few kids, getting a photo where everyone is smiling is more difficult than you think. Isn't that just like family- a bunch of complicated, beautiful people loving each other. I'm so grateful that these are my people. Happy birthday, grandma! You legacy is a powerful one. Your gentle spirit speaks volumes. I love you!

xx

As I watch Ryan-Kate grow, I am learning more to appreciate the mess that surrounds a growing girl. She was always been happy and full of life and watching her grow has been on of the best experiences in my life. It not easy one hundred percent of the time, but it's still beautiful. When the house is a mess- clothes on the floor, toys sprinkled all over the house, books everywhere but the book case. It all represents something.
She's learning, playing, and growing. And the mess? That's proof of life.
The books everywhere means that she she was eager to learn that day. The clothes on the floor means that she got her hands dirty exploring her senses. The toys on the ground means she's playing and interacting with the world around her.
There is beauty in  the mess, and I am realizing that it is all about my perspective. I am learning more from Ryan-Kate to appreciate the life that is happening around me, and not be so concerned about the mess.

I am probably Andrews biggest fan. Recently, he found out that our current town councilman in our district resigned two years into his term. Now, Andrew is running for town council representative for district 6. If you knew him you wouldn't be that surprised. He constantly has great ideas and maybe some not so great, but they are always thought out and he does his research. I really think Andrew has a shot. I will keep you guys posted about our government endeavors, but check out his campaign website: www.andrewnemeth.com.

Last weekend, Andrew and I visited dear friends of ours in Oregon. I absolutely love Colorado, but Oregon is another kind of beautiful. We visited to surprise my friend Brooke for her birthday. The moment she saw us she burst into tears, which of course made me cry.
I'm a crier, deal with it.
We went on a hike seeing beautiful trees and waterfalls. The trees just go on for days! We went to the Oregon coast and had the best seafood!

It is very rare that we have a 2 week vacation. I went MIA there for a bit, but I was going to milk all that time I had off. Andrew and I came back feeling refreshed and rested, but we still missed being home for so long. Here are a few scenic photos from our trip(s).

We had adventure day to get the other day with a mission to chop down out tree. In Colorado it has been unbearably cold. If we had gone a week earlier, I could have saved myself a layer of clothes.
Maybe next time.
We found a beautiful tree. It is not as full as the ones your get at the grocery store, but it's our own and out first together. And that makes it special.
Now, our time consists of making ornaments for our new tree. I never really had Christmas trees growing up and realized that I had no decoration but lights!
Making popcorn and pinecone decoration takes up so much time- why didn't anyone tell me?!
Even though that's not my favorite part, nor was the freezing cold, I like making new traditions with my husband.

Nebraska...what an adventure. It took a long eight hours to just get to Omaha where Andrew and I stayed in a hotel with my dad.
In the morning, we drove another two hours to get to Pierce, Nebraska where the car auction took place. There were over 450 cars just sitting in a field! Some of these cars had never been driven or only had about 5-20 miles on them. A lot of the cars were in horrible condition and it was sad to see something that had barely been touched be so old and damaged.
There were men who bought back their cars or trucks who they sold to the dealership! It was so emotional for them. Sadly, my dad didn't walk away with anything. Because of the hype of the media, people were drawn to the auction driving the prices
One truck that most farmers had their eye on went for 140K! It was very rare-- only 1800  were ever made! Overall, my mom, dad, Andrew, and I all had a fun together. It was a fun adventure with wonderful memories.

The days are seriously flying by now! I keep running a few errands here and there and spending time with family, but in the back of my mind I'm thinking. "Whoa! I'm about to marry the man of my dreams!" And that makes me feel so lucky. He is so understanding, funny, and patient with me. He is thoughtful to others and gives beyond what is asked. I love that about him.
