Andrew and I have a new addition to our family and her name is Lady. She is a miniature dapple dachshund and probably the prettiest one I have ever seen. She loves to sleep, play, and be on my lap. Even Andrew has warmed up to her!
After reflecting on this past year, it has been one of the best and learning experiences. I look at some of our wedding photos remembering that I just wanted to be married. I didn't think that I could love him when we were saying our vows, but I do. I love him more than the day we got married. He is my best friend and most favorite person to be around. We laugh, have fun, do nothing, read, and it is always the best part of my day. He challenges me to do and be better, and I thank God for him constantly. It amazes me how much God knows and loves me to have found Andrew for me.
"Matrimony came from paradise and leads to it. I need was half so happy, before I was married man, as I am now. When you are marred, your bliss begins. Let the husband love his wife's he loves himself, and a little better, for she is his better half. He should feel. 'if there is only one good wife in the whole world, I've got her.'"- Charles Spurgeon
After chopping all my hair off a few months ago, I decided to put more blonde in my balayage/ ombre hair. This last few hair appointments have been brave for me. I don't cut my hair short, much less put color. I figured, live a little, right?
I recently ordered the try-at-home Warby Parker glasses. I broke my glasses about 2 years ago and never fixed them. I am so blind without anything- my morning routine consists of me fumbling for my for my contacts so I can get my coffee. Sometimes when I don't feel like getting up, I just lay there and since I can't see anything I fall back asleep.
I am convinced I could never be blind. I could just fall asleep everywhere. That would be embarrassing.
Anyway, with Warby Parker, you can try 5 glasses to see which ones you like. My top 3 choices are these. Just when I think I've made up my mind I doubt myself- Help!
Lately, I have been hang the most awkward moments. I bought an active wear sweater that I could have sworn was adorable, but when I got home and actually tried it on I realized that I basically bought a bath robe. I tried walking around the house to see if I still liked it, but the more I wore it, the more ridiculous I felt. So whatever, Im taking it back.
Next, at my new gym I threw a cup of water down the towel drop. I was completely mortified. A lady walked up right after I threw my cup away but didn't even notice. Yikes!
I am probably Andrews biggest fan. Recently, he found out that our current town councilman in our district resigned two years into his term. Now, Andrew is running for town council representative for district 6. If you knew him you wouldn't be that surprised. He constantly has great ideas and maybe some not so great, but they are always thought out and he does his research. I really think Andrew has a shot. I will keep you guys posted about our government endeavors, but check out his campaign website: www.andrewnemeth.com.
Last weekend, Andrew and I visited dear friends of ours in Oregon. I absolutely love Colorado, but Oregon is another kind of beautiful. We visited to surprise my friend Brooke for her birthday. The moment she saw us she burst into tears, which of course made me cry.
I'm a crier, deal with it.
We went on a hike seeing beautiful trees and waterfalls. The trees just go on for days! We went to the Oregon coast and had the best seafood!
It is very rare that we have a 2 week vacation. I went MIA there for a bit, but I was going to milk all that time I had off. Andrew and I came back feeling refreshed and rested, but we still missed being home for so long. Here are a few scenic photos from our trip(s).
