We had adventure day to get the other day with a mission to chop down out tree. In Colorado it has been unbearably cold. If we had gone a week earlier, I could have saved myself a layer of clothes.
Maybe next time.
We found a beautiful tree. It is not as full as the ones your get at the grocery store, but it's our own and out first together. And that makes it special.
Now, our time consists of making ornaments for our new tree. I never really had Christmas trees growing up and realized that I had no decoration but lights!
Making popcorn and pinecone decoration takes up so much time- why didn't anyone tell me?!
Even though that's not my favorite part, nor was the freezing cold, I like making new traditions with my husband.

I miss my Dallas friends. I love Colorado and it's been an adventure, but it doesn't mean that I don't miss Dallas. I know where I am supposed to be and where God has me- it's in Colorado.
Lately, I have been feeling like I'm in this waiting period. I know the process is apart of my growth, but lemme tell ya, it's no fun.
My prayer recently is: Jesus, make my life an example. Teach me something that I can teach to others.
This was a difficult prayer, but I meant it. And along the way I have learned so much about myself and about The Father's love.
I've learned to love myself more.
I've learned to speak life over my mind and body. Not believing the negative talk that society says is "normal."
I've learned to hold on to His promises, because they never fail. Even promises that were spoken long ago over me.
I've learned to stir up my faith.
I've learned to be brave. He made me that way.
I've learned to just let go.
I've learned to stop doing and start being.
I've learned to trust more.
The process might not seem like the exciting part, but He is still in the process. He teaches in the process so that we are ready for big battles. I am convinced, that there is more growth in the process and the waiting than there ever will be in the storm.

I am a huge gift giver and really just a shopping person in general. Christmas is fun for all the gifts I can buy- because little secret, I am great at picking out the PERFECT gift. Here is a great gift guide for him, just in case you were racking your brain on finding things that will suite your guy.
Andrew carries handkerchiefs wherever he goes, mainly because I am a crier.
Whatever, deal with it.
And also because he is an old soul and super classy, so that one may not work for you.
Every guy ives the outdoors- so maybe think about getting him an axe! It maybe super hipster, but it might make him feel manly and adventurous.
Anyway, good luck!

My hair is a virgin.
Never. Been. Touched.
Never been highlighted, dyed, or permed. Nothing.
Never been highlighted, dyed, or permed. Nothing.
Lately, I have debating adding some fun to my hair for fall. I think I am just being a big whimp. But what keeps going through my head is, " What is I hate it?"
You're right. I'm probably just overacting. Especially, because it not THAT big of a change.

what do you think?

Nebraska...what an adventure. It took a long eight hours to just get to Omaha where Andrew and I stayed in a hotel with my dad.
In the morning, we drove another two hours to get to Pierce, Nebraska where the car auction took place. There were over 450 cars just sitting in a field! Some of these cars had never been driven or only had about 5-20 miles on them. A lot of the cars were in horrible condition and it was sad to see something that had barely been touched be so old and damaged.
There were men who bought back their cars or trucks who they sold to the dealership! It was so emotional for them. Sadly, my dad didn't walk away with anything. Because of the hype of the media, people were drawn to the auction driving the prices

One truck that most farmers had their eye on went for 140K! It was very rare-- only 1800 were ever made! Overall, my mom, dad, Andrew, and I all had a fun together. It was a fun adventure with wonderful memories.

As you all know, Andrew has been working hard over his food blog at Bachelor Cooking. You know, since I met him I have been telling him to start a food blog. So, yes, I am taking credit for his new hobby.
Anyway, I got this great idea to create a light box so that his pictures look more clean. My mom shipped in some stuff from Dallas, so I had three big boxes laying in the office.

- Cut out three sides leaving only a frame
- Find a thin, airy paper that light can come through and is almost translucent
- Cut paper accordingly and tape to your sides
- You're finished!
That's it. it was super easy! I tested it out with some flowers that i head and it works great. The natural light with the white paper brightens up whatever I am taking a picture of- I love being crafty.

- 1 cup strawberries
- 1 banana
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup non-fat greek yogurt
- 3 tbs oats
- chia seeds (as desired)
- 3 ice cubes
- 2 tbs honey

I have been making some changes to our bedroom...finally. It seemed like the living room was recieving all of the attention. Andrew and I finally finished our side tables that we have neglected for over three months, keeping our other projects on hold. My list just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

I am really into mid-century styled pieces and wanted to incorporate it with our bedroom style. Andrew used the same wood as the headboard and ordered the legs online. The side tables have really made a difference. I feel like I officially have become an adult with matching furniture!
I cannot wait until our next project. I have to work faster at updating them. so sorry, no excuses.

Living off of Ramen Noodles and Taco Bell helps for a season, but 15lbs later, a man realizes that he needs to learn how to cook. Until now, he has always relied on his mother to make his food.
Andrew loves to cook, but when he first lived on his own he had to learn how to cook for one. Over the years he has created a few recipes that all guys love. He decided to create a blog for all of those guys (and girls) who are in the bachelor or bachelorette season of their life. You can check it out HERE.
