LUNA'S LOVES

I am usually the person that has the great idea to give everyone in my office a nice homemade gift at Christmas time or Christmas update card around December 15th. That's way too late to stat thinking about that. Honestly, I get so busy and it seems so daunting that I inevitably give up and make a note that next year will be my year. So when I got the opportunity to work with Basic Invite, I had a few requirements for my self: A.) it had to look pretty, and B.) it had to be easy. And that was exactly what I experienced with Basic Invite. I went through the whole process and tried a variety of different  options (all pictured) from home stationary, family thank you's, Frankie's baby announcement, Ryan-Kate's  preschool graduation, and a hypothetical anniversary party. The ease of each project sold me! When I received my samples I was blown away with the quality of each of my items, and I didn't even get the gold foil option! Right now, Basic Invite is offering 15% off with code: 15FF51.

Basic Invite has a line for their graduation invites, announcements, and thank you's. I created a mock up for Ryan-Kate and I loved how it turned out! I loved the interaction with the whole process, they double check your work and once you approve they send it off to print! I consistently have spelling errors and admittedly am not a details person. So the fact that someone else can check my work was an added bonus.
I picked out some of my favorite graduation invites for you! Take a look:

I bet many of you don't remember the time I had purple hair for about 6 months. If I knew then that I know now, I would do things way differently. In the process, I fried my hair and it took a while to get it to where it used to be. I think hair should be fun and an expression, also, hair grows back! So don't be afraid to shake it up a bit. I got an opportunity to try Overtone's for brown hair line so that brunettes can try color too without all of the damage. Overall, I loved the ease of this product with my hair. The coloring system is easy: just apply to dry hair and wash away with hot water 10-15 minutes later. No extreme bleaching or harsh chemicals. It is a vegan, cruelty-free product too! The smell is almost like the love child of spearmint and rosemary. It's pretty refreshing.
Here are my before and after shots. Of course, my highlights took to it immediately. but the rest of my har has a subtle rose gold color. This shade has a lot of warmth to it, which complimented my olive complexion. Because I previously had highlights to my hair, I diluted the front pieces with a hair mask that I already had on hand. Then after I washed my hair out, I put purple shampoo on my front pieces and washed again to give it more of a pastel look.If you are a blonde, you can easily use their colorless hair treatment to achieve a pastel look. Overtone is a highly pigmented product, so a little goes a loooong way.
If you want to try out out Overtone's Rose Gold for Brown hair - I'm giving one away! All you have to do is:
1. Like this instagram post
2. Tag a friend you'd think also enjoy it
3. BONUS! subscribe to my blog

Giveaway ends February 24th.

  1. Homesick Candle. If you've had a friend move away this is a good gift to remind them of home. They also carry other nostalgic smells like a library, holiday, or Friday night football.
  2. Moscow mule mugs. My mom gifted these to us one year and even had our initials monogramed. They are still one of our favorites. It becomes apart of our decor every Christmas too!
  3. Mini Fiji poloraid camera. This is a great gift for a teenager or those who like a good old fashion polaroid.
  4. Vintage Scrabble game set. This game set looks cool and can even become apart of your decoration. There are other game sets like clue and monopoly available too.
  5. Keychain Charger. We all have someone we know that chronically runs on 10 percent.
  6. Cuisinart air popper. This one is a great deal that looks pretty trendy too! Air popped popcorn is SO much better than the microwaved bag.
  7. Yeti coffee mug. No one likes cold coffee. No one.
  8. This cute French press. This is great for the coffee lovers in your life.
  9. Record Player. This is on an Amazon lightening deal, so you have to move fast. Otherwise, it is not under 50, but it is still not bad overall.
  10. Tex-Mex cookbook. Or maybe any cookbook for that matter. I have this one and highly recommend it. The recipes remind me of the Tex-Mex that I grew up with.

Parents are difficult to buy for because they have basically spent a lifetime collecting things. Here is a round-up of Amazon finds that are great gifts for parents!
  1. Weighted blanket. Andrew got one, and he loves it!
  2. This great deal on a vacuum and hand vacuum.
  3. Alexa dot. Because they need someone to talk to when you are out of the house. LOL jk.
  4. Mini Keurig. If they haven't already switched over to a Keurig, this mini one is a great option.
  5. 23 and Me Ancestry Kit. This may be a good idea for some, for others it might just stir up family drama. yikes.
  6. Vitruvi diffuser. I love my diffuser and essential oils, this is a great option because it's beautiful and would fit in any home.
  7. Roomba. This is a game changer, seriously. I turn mine on and its one less thing I have to do around the house!
  8. Knife cheese set. It's pretty and it comes in its own case. It is perfect for the time of parents who are entertainers too.
  9. Dopp Case. Probably more for your dad, but it's still a great gift option.
  10. Ember coffee warmer. Because no one likes cold coffee.

I loooove shopping. I mean, love it. Even if it's not for me. My husband does not but he does frequent   Amazon quite often. So if you are like him, I put together a gift guide for children. Some of these items I have already bought for Ryan-Kate and love them, others I just think are a great gift idea.

  1. This yellow corduroy jacket.
  2. Crayon rocks.
  3. The cutest camera I have ever seen. And already bought, too. It also comes with everything you need to move the pictures over to a phone.
  4. These pajamas. This year we started the tradition of getting Christmas pajamas. If you don't like the traditional looking Christmas pajamas, these sets are a great option because they come in all sorts of colors.
  5. This writing tablet. We picked one up at the library and RK loved it, so we decided to actually buy her one. My goal is to get her to do more creative stuff that don't always involve screens.
  6. Shorts lounge set. It comes in so many colors and I just thought it was so cute.
  7. Amazon Kindle. My niece has one of these, but we have an iPad mini. After comparing the two, I think the Kindle has better kid interaction with games that are more learning base.
  8. Magna-tiles. These are a creative puzzle/building toy that uses kids imagination. RK played with these at a friends home and it was a winner with her!
  9. Knee-high socks. I've gotten several of these in the past for my daughter. I like to use them with her dresses instead of stockings.
  10. These snow boots. I got RK these at the beginning of our snow season. My problem with kids clothes is that they are so ugly sometimes. I like these because they are fictional and actually pretty.
