Skin Care & Beauty

by - Thursday, August 04, 2016

I have always admired the French art of beauty. There is something about French women that is so effortless, and I have adopted their same approach to beauty: take care of the "base." Skin care is about what you put in your body just as much as it is about what you put on it; however, that is another conversation for another time.
Now, I have never been one to wear tons of makeup so through the years I have just had to find products that work for me. I posted a photo on Instagram not too long ago and I got responses asking what I am using for skin care. I decided that it would be a great opportunity to sum up my routine in a post and talk about my favorite products.

  1. Josie Maran - This one is hard because I own several products from Josie Maran. In Texas, my skin was oily, but over the years, the colorado climate has dried it out. I like use the the Argan oil to hydrate my face before I got to bed and in the morning as a part of my makeup routine. Other products that I would recommend from Josie are the Argan Cleansing Oil and Argan Milk Hydrating Treatment.
  2. Tea Tree Oil- I use this whenever I have a nasty pimple. I just put a little on a q-tip and apply to the problem area. It is very concentrated, so a little goes a long way.
  3. ProActiv Toner- I recently started using toner on my face every morning and every night and I have noticed a major difference on how clear my face looks. ProActiv did wonders to my skin about 4 years ago (I sound like an infomercial), but now I only really use the toner. I'm not sure, but I'm convinced any toner is will do.
  4. Boscia Clear Complexion Treatment- or simply put, pimple treatment
  5. Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen- I apply sunscreen to my face everyday. The sun is so intense in Colorado that I can't really afford not to.
  6. Olay Regenerist Night Cream- This is one that I have been using for years and its one of the best nighttime creams that I have found.

What are you using? I would love to know. I am always looking for new products! Until then, I hope this help you along with your own skin journey.
