LUNA'S LOVES

I am always enjoy finding new products, but I'm the type where I've probably been thinking about what I've wanting for a while already. Especially, when it comes to makeup. With stores like Sephora, they make it easy to try on and test out different eyeliners or foundations. If you're anything like me then you probably just want to know if the thing you are about to spend a pretty penny on is actually worth it.
I recently received a few complimentary products for testing purposes. I also want to let you know that these are my honest opinions. I would never want to sway you towards something if I didn't believe in it, however, you don't have to take my word for it- try it out for yourself and see whatcha think!

Products:
  • Lancôme Visionnaire Yeux Advanced Multi-Correction Eye Balm - Overall, I have been very pleased with my experience with this particular product. This eye cream was gentle on my skin and left the skin underneath my eye very moisturized. I was already on the hunt for an eye cream that helped with the dark circles underneath my eyes. I'm prone to dark circles, and having a baby did not help with that! After the first week and a half, my dark circles were less noticeable. YAY! I put my concealer over the cream and it did not interfere with my normal makeup routine. I would highly recommend to anyone who has the same problems with dark circles that I do or simply want a eye cream that smooths out their skin around their eyes.
  • Lancôme Drama Liquid-Pencil Longwear Eyeliner - The Lancôme liqui-pencil has grown on me since I have had it, especially because initially, mine broke several time in my attempt to use it.  The eyeliner is creamy like it was described and glides on easily, but if it keeps breaking then that's no good. A plus of the pencil was that it did last all day! I tried this eyeliner in two colors: purple and black an while both colors were lovely, I would not recommend this eyeliner.
  • Lancôme Definicils High definition Mascara - Let's cut to the chase, ladies. We don't have time to be playing games with our mascara choices. Pros? This mascara was nice for length and individual length of my eyelashes. It lasted all day without braking apart, and showing up on my face. When that happens I always feel less "adult." My eyelashes did not come off clumpy or like spider legs. Cons? The mascara did not, however, help with volume, which for me is a big selling point. My same 10 lashes were just longer. meh. Bottom line? This mascara did the job but overall not my favorite.
  • Lancôme Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover - The eye makeup remover that I tested was a great product! I found it to be gentle on my skin and my makeup slid right off with no issues. I don't really have any negatives to say because the makeup remover met up to my standards. 5/5. I would recommend this to ya girls.

The things I love most about fall are all things that I think everyone can agree with: warm drinks, the changing leaves, cozy sweaters, cute boots, and pretty scarves. Colorado always seems to hit fall earlier than my home state of Texas, but I never complain because it is the best season out there.
Let's talk about this blanket scarf, which is only $18 with free shipping. Ladies, that's kind of a big deal. it's large and warm which meant I didn't even need a jacket when the sun went down because it was so comfy. Even Ryan-Kate loved it! I forgot her socks in the car, and because the sun goes down so early now, she was starting to get cold in her dress with no tights or socks. She wrapped her hands around the scarf and squealed; it was adorable!

I remember the first couple of days when we first brought Ryan-Kate home. It was so foreign being a "mother." Saying the words out loud felt like it was more for my sake than for anyone else. Friends and family came in and out helping with meals, the home, and the new life adjustment. I felt like I was getting ahold of life and being a parent (minus being tired). I painted the majority of the house in-between naps. I even came back to work 6 weeks into my 12 week maternity leave. But then the meals stopped coming, and the family members stopped visiting, and I realized it was just me and baby at home. The realization that this tiny baby was my full responsibility was finally setting in
And that terrified me.
Slowly, I felt my fear creeping in other areas of my life. Work became overwhelming, I couldn't make simple decisions, and I constantly felt like I was drowning. At home, I would just cry and cry because I was so frustrated at myself for what I was feeling. I felt broken, like I was losing my function.
After a few months of this, I started to look up postpartum depression, and wept when I read somethings, because it felt like I could finally pinpoint what I had been feeling for some time. I felt guilty for what I was going through and didn't know how to ask for help. I just knew that I couldn't do  what I was doing anymore.
Life moves in seasons, and in this season my capacity was different. I realized that I was trying to do life in the same capacity that I once had before Ryan-Kate. She was never the problem, my striving for perfection was always the problem. Now I write a some things on my list that I want to accomplish and I pick two or three.
And I'm finally okay with that.
I talked with Andrew, I reevaluated my priorities, I humbled myself and adjusted my capacity, and most importantly, I went to the only person who could save me from myself. My relationship with Jesus had to come first, because I wasn't fighting for it, I was running on empty.  Now, my devotions look a little different these days with a 10-month old, but thats life. And I have learned more about the Father's love in this season than I ever did single. It is a new level of vastness that I didn't know I could experience and I wouldn't change that.
I am no longer ashamed, nor should I be. My process and pain can mean freedom for someone else. I chose not to stay stuck in depression, but instead do something about it. If you are struggling with depression or postpartum depression, gather your friends and family around you.
Seek help. Talk about it. Don't believe the lie of "perfection," because you don't have to have it all together. We are all just trying to figure out life.
